In cool weather, the gas replica loses speed, the butt goes back badly and the charger runs out quickly.

Symptoms

  • The first shots are correct, then the line (definition) fades.
  • The charger is iced and covered with condensation
  • The butt barely recedes in quick shot

Causes

Most common to rare.

  1. Gas pressure drops with temperatureCommon
  2. The gas that relaxes still cools the charger at each shotCommon

  1. In an inner pocket, near the body, and rotate two or three chargers. Never flame, radiator or hot water on a full charger.

  2. Shooting quickly cools the charger faster than it warms. Suddenly, by letting it breathe, the pressure holds better.

  3. A more powerful gas or CO2 (definition) compensates for the cold, but not on all replicas: check the package leaflet, and remeasure the power when it is soft.

  4. A drop of silicone oil on the filling valve and the charger outlet keeps the seals flexible.
