The replica doesn't fire, no noise

Nothing happens at relaxation: neither motor nor shooting. Almost always a matter of power supply.

Symptoms

  • No engine noise when pressing the trigger
  • The reply worked on the previous part and then nothing
  • Only one fire mode works (semi or gust)
  • The replica responds intermittently, depending on how to hold the cable

Causes

Most common to rare.

  1. Empty, too weak or poorly connected batteryCommon

  1. Selector well out of safety, try one shot at a time and then the gust. If only one mode works, the problem comes from the selector contacts, not the battery.

  2. Press the connector thoroughly, then try a battery you're sure of. If the replica goes back, the problem comes from the first battery or its connector.

  3. On the multimeter, at rest: a loaded LiPo (definition) 7.4 V displays about 8.4 V, a 11.1 V about 12.6 V. Under 3.5 V per element, the battery is empty; under 3.0 V per element, do not charge it without notice, it can be damaged.

  4. Look for dark or greenish contacts, a spindle pushed into the housing (common on mini-Tamiya) or a split weld. Test the fuse continuity and replace it with a fuse of the same calibre, never with a wire.

  5. A programmable MOSFET (definition) often signals an error by beeps or vibrations from the engine to the connection. Its notice gives the meaning: battery too low, programming lost, thermal protection.

  6. Battery disconnected, remove the handle and disconnect the engine. Connect it for a second to the battery: if it turns, the engine is good and the shutdown is in the wiring or contacts.

  7. Gearbox open, blackened or swipe contacts no longer pass the current. Cleaning sometimes saves them; If they are dug, replace them and think of MOSFET, which protects them.

Stop

Stop and hand over the reply to a technician if:

  • A wire or connector warms, or a burning smell appears
  • The battery is swollen, deformed or hot at rest
  • You have to open the Gearbox and you never did.
